The Most Romantic Christmas Movies for Date Night

Or are they? Watch out for the last one!

All Hallmark and Lifetime type movie lovers enjoy! This is your time of year! Not only are the movies fun-loving, comedic, romantic, and humorous but they are also filled with Christmas, too. These movies are all perfect for your need and love of holiday romances. Try a few out and enjoy the laughs and the love.

Christmas with a View

This typical Lifetime style Hallmark movie is like all the rest. It’s full of Christmas cheer, love, hope, a little bit of fighting, and a lot of making up. When celebrity chef Shane Roarke starts at Thunder Mountain Ski Resort everyone is abuzz about him. Everyone that is except Clara Garrison.

Clara is starting over after a failed attempt at opening a big city restaurant and doesn’t want to pay the new chef any attention. But when Clara hears that her boss isn’t all he says he is, she finds out the truth about his plans for the resort and quits. Just in time, Shane tells her he’s invested in the place for her and it’s now hers. They agree to run it together and it’s happily ever after. Aww.

Coffee Shop

Ben is a New York Playwright in a slump so when his friend Kevin invites him to small town Connecticut, he jumps on the offer. Ben orders a tea and it causes a scene. Him and the coffee shop owner get off to a rough start. Donovan, the coffee shop owner, comes into some money issues and is being forced to foreclose.  But of course, Donovan’s ex comes back to town and tries to save the day.

Or does he? He offers to get the place sold, to be turned into a parking garage. Donovan realizes her feelings for Ben, but not until after he proves his loyalty to her, and the town. And then it all changes when Ben’s newest play becomes a hit and he offers to pay off the coffee shop for her but instead they become partners, in business, life, and love.

Christmas Inheritance

Besides being a Netflix original, this movie has a happy Christmas spin and by the end, even Ellen discovers the truth about Christmas. Ellen’s father is rich and she works under him and is next in line for the family business. But her partying ways and immature actions cause her father to take pause. He tells her that she has to do something to prove to him she’s grown up and she can handle the business. He wants her to hand deliver a Christmas card to her dad’s former partner in Snow Falls, technically her hometown, but a place she never really spent any time in. Like other Christmas romances, she gets snowed in and is forced to work for her keep. Not only does she find romance but she finds a lot of Christmas love, too.

Christmas Wedding Planner

Romantic? I guess so. This movie is full of not great acting and unbelievable and kind of unloveable cast but I watched it until the end nonetheless. Kelsey decides that her first venture as a wedding planner will be for her sister Emily and to be thrown on none other than Christmas. Conner, Emily’s ex-boyfriend shows up, but not for the reason you may think. He doesn’t want her back, nope, but he also doesn’t want her to get married either.

At least not to Todd. Conner enlists Kelsey to help him uncover the nasty truth about Todd and Kelsey only agrees to help her sister. In the end, Todd is the scumbag they thought he was and him and Emily don’t get married. But in a bizarre and truly terrible ending, Kelsey and Connor share an, “I love you.” All I could think was how they have known each other for two seconds and how could they possibly be saying I love you already. That was soon trumped by an engagement and instant wedding, you know, because romance movies.

These movies will get you into the loving spirit, the Christmas spirit, and maybe even get you to give into love a little sooner than you thought. They are all cheesy and Christmas-y and perfect for this time of year.
