It’s the holiday season so let’s watch some holiday movies! What’s your favorite holiday or Christmas movie? How about Thanksgiving or Halloween. After all, don’t they kick off the holiday season?

Halloween has already passed, but if you want to see some awesome Halloween movies, check out these. Then for Thanksgiving, Neal Page is a dad who just wants to get home to his family for the holiday but it seems he never will. His transportation is constantly failing him and his new friend Del is really getting on his nerves. But by the end of the trip, the frenemies have become family and they make it home just in time for Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving has passed, too, but Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is the best Thanksgiving movie and a must watch during the holiday season the season.

Kevin thinks he just wants to be left alone but the moral of this movie is family. When Kevin gets into trouble and then accidentally gets left behind at home when the rest of the family is on a trip, he wakes up happier than ever to be alone. Two burglars attempt to break into Kevin’s house more than once but he wins ultimately and protects the house. By the end of the movie, the house is cleaned and decorated by Kevin who anxiously awaits the return of his family. If this doesn’t get you in the mood for Christmas, nothing will.

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

The original cartoon, that is. When the Grinch comes up against Cindy Lou Who, he ends up falling in love with her cute little smile and her loving heart. From bitter and hateful to fun-loving and spirited, the Grinch learns what Christmas is really about.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Okay, so I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but this is the thing. The Nightmare Before Christmas really is a great Christmas movie! Yes, Halloween is shown, too, and yes, it’s a quirky flick, but it has the feel goods that make a truly great Christmas movie. After Jack Skellington, the king of Halloween Town discovers Christmas town, he is delighted to bring it back to his home. But his attempts cause confusion and the holiday isn’t as easily accepted and loved as Jack thought it would be.

Christmas Vacation has got to be one of the funniest movies out there. You just have to laugh at scenes like the camper toilet getting “dumped” out into the sidewalk sewer. Once you see that, you cannot unsee it. With a comedic and Hollywood twist, Christmas Vacation shows an American family coming together for the Christmas season. And the thing is, for some families, this depiction may not be that far off.

Trading Places

One of my favorite movies of all time, hands down. This 80s classic stars Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykryod and they are perfect in it. Strangers, to enemies, to friends, to investors together, these two are tricked into hating each other and then become a team against the ‘bad’ guys. This movie is funny, timely, and entertaining enough to watch more than once, or at least once a year.

This time of year is perfect for snuggling up, watching movies, and enjoying the season.
