Amazing Bbq Meals for the End of Your Summer

Who doesn’t love BBQs during the summer? If you don’t, then this article is not for you. Because it’s all about BBQing, and finishing your summer off with some amazing and delicious foods, straight off the grill. Yum!

Here are three of my most favorite grilling dishes. And while the following are my favorites, don’t forget that burgers, brats, and other vegetables and fruits are all perfect for the grill. What’s your favorite?

Kabobs

First up, kabobs. I’m visiting my in-laws right now and we just made kabobs on the grill a couple of weekends ago. They were so good! Plus, they are healthy, delicious, and although they take a little prep work, they are really easy and taste great. Want a kabob tip? Keep everything on its own stick. This ensures each item cooks evenly and will help you with the grilling process. We made sweet potato slices, pineapple chunks, onions, and chicken, which we brushed with BBQ sauce at the very end. We also made grilled corn on the cob. And speaking of corn on the cob.

BBQ Chicken and Corn on the Cob

This is my all time, hands down, favorite meal of the summer. I love, love, love BBQ chicken and corn on the grill. It’s also pretty healthy, even with the butter, salt, and pepper you add to the corn and the BBQ you top the chicken with. Plus, if you make your own BBQ sauce, you can give it your exact taste preference and it will make a big batch, so you can eat out of it for lots of things.

Anyhow, keep the corn husks on and soak the corn, for at least an hour or as long as you can. Then shake the excess water off the corn and put it on the grill. As soon as all the corn husks are blackened and charred on all sides, the corn is done! And for the chicken, if you cut it into smaller pieces (or even throw them on kabobs,) it will grill up quickly and you can add some barbecue sauce right at the end. (This way it will not burn.) Enjoy!

Potatoes with Onions and Peppers

This is a dish my Dad made my whole life on the grill. Aluminum foil packet potatoes has diced potatoes, chopped onions, and peppers, and diced garlic. Add some avocado or olive oil, a few pats of butter, salt, pepper, and cayenne powder, and mix it all together. Wrap it up in its own foil package and throw it on the grill. Because they are potatoes, it takes a while for them to cook but this grill dish has a great flavor and lots of veggies, too. For some creaminess, you can add some sour cream (or use Greek yogurt as sour cream,) after they are done as a dip. Yum!

Summer is coming to an end but that doesn’t mean that you don’t have time to grill! Make sure to enjoy the sweet corn while you still can, the seasonal produce that tastes better and is a great price during the summer, and grill everything you can!
