Best Skincare Products for Sensitive Skin

It's time for your true face to shine through.

I’ve grown up with sensitive skin all my life and let me be the first to say: it isn’t easy. From trips to the doctor to recovery periods for my damaged skin, there seemed to be nothing on the market that helped me. I know I am not the only one, though! For others with sensitive skin, it seems almost impossible to find the right products for your face. You always have to worry about allergies, perfumes, or dyes that could cause your face to have a bad reaction.

For years I have tried all sorts of products on the market to combat my skin-type. After many trials and errors, I’ve found that there isn’t a “one brand fits all.” Each brand has unique ingredients in each product. Although the brand’s line can be great, it doesn’t mean its chemicals won’t irritate your gentle skin. It’s time to “face” your sensitive-prone skin head-on with these products formulated to revive it.

Bag Balm Mega Moisturizing Soap and Moisturizer

This brand is all natural and has been around since the late 1800s. Originally used on the udders of cows during the winter, it’s a remedy now for cracking and dry skin. With only four ingredients this duo won’t cause any severe reactions or irritation to your face. This soap and moisturizer is perfect for those with irritated skin and repairs it overnight.

For people who suffer from eczema (like me) this is a great solution. It’s thick and locks in moisture to prevent dryness. Just put it on in the morning and before bed.

Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Oil

Drunk Elephant is formally known for their all-natural approach to skin care, and this oil is the proof. Not only does it help combat acne, but it also leaves dry skin feeling smooth and soft in the morning. For those with light scarring, it can also help fade away acne scars. You can also mix this with other products in your nightly skin care routine without worry!

I use this every night for the best results. Drunk Elephant products are usually great when it comes to being safe on sensitive skin. But, this one is the greatest out of the line. Not only does it make my skin baby soft, it also helps fight my acne.

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm

Although it has a more “manly” design, it’s perfect for men, women, and children who have chapped lips. Not only does it hydrate your lips, but it also has SPF 25 to protect them as well. It’s perfect for both cold, dry winters and hot, humid summers. If you are allergic to dyes, no worries! It lacks them and is dermatologist tested. It also comes in several different scents.

Having dry skin also means you probably get dry lips. Out of all the lip products I’ve used, this one is amazing. The hydration stays throughout the day. Which means I don’t have to reapply it all the time. I put this on before putting on lipstick to keep my lips soft.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Cleansing Towelettes

Mostly being known for their lip balm, Burt’s Bees is also known for their great natural skin care products. These wipes are hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and allergy tested to be safe on sensitive skin. They are natural, made with cotton, rice extract, and aloe to soothe your skin. If you have trouble taking off your makeup at night and need some extra help, this is your new go-to!

For me, I wear a full face of make up. I only have to use one of these wipes to take off all my makeup. Not only that, but it doesn’t dry out my skin afterward. After a long day, sometimes I am too tired to fully wash my face. These wipes do a great job at removing the dirt from my clogged pores from the day.

Cetaphil Hydrating Eye Cream

This eye cream is perfect for locking in moisture for those with sensitivity around their eyes. It reduces wrinkles and fine lines while rehydrating using Hyaluronic Acid to get the job done! The gel-formula leaves the skin looking fresh and well-rested in the morning. Not only is this cost-effective, but it can also be found in almost any drug store.

Most Cetaphil products that I’ve used are great for my skin. I have extremely dry eyes, which make a problem putting on eye makeup. This has been a game changer for that. It goes on my eyes before bed and in the morning. Not only does it depuff, but it lightens my under eyes as well. Any stresses throughout the day seem to vanish with this gel.

Nia 24Rapid Redness Recovery

If your sensitive skin is causing redness, this vitamin-rich gel is perfect for you! Made with caffeine and vitamin E, it hydrates, strengthens, and repairs your skin overnight while you sleep. With green tints, it color-corrects red in the face. This is perfect for people post-surgery, but can be used for any skin type.

My experience with this has been nothing but positive. This gets rid of the redness in my face within a week of use. It’s also one of the only products I can use alongside my eczema, and works!
