Chocolate Gifts for a Sweet Holiday Treat

I mean, come on. Who doesn’t love chocolate?

We all inevitably come across someone on our holiday list who is impossible to buy for. They tend to be the ones we put off until the last-minute because no matter how hard we wrack our brain – we come up with nothing. The reality is that you could always go with a gift card … but that just feels way too lazy and impersonal sometimes.

When you come across those people, a pretty safe bet is chocolate. Because, really, who doesn’t love chocolate? Even people who claim they don’t like chocolate like chocolate *wink, wink*.

Here are some great suggestions for personalizing a chocolate gift for that special (or horribly hard to buy for person) on your list this holiday season:

Personalize M&Ms

Have a big M&M fan in your life? Did you know you can personalize M&M’s on the website? You get to pick the color, add a picture, add text, and pick the packaging! So cool! Or, for a cheaper option, you can buy them an assortment of their favorite M&M flavors and put them in a cheap cute little basket with some red ribbon (a Christmas classic).

Godiva assortment chocolates

It’s kind of a tired cliché, but clichés happen for a reason, right? An assortment of chocolates from a good brand like Godiva is always appreciated. Why save this one for Valentines day when everyone likes getting a delightful candy treat?

Chocolate sports ball

Have a sports fan in your life? Well, consider getting them their favorite sport in the form of chocolate. I found every ball I could think of (basketball, football, baseball, tennis ball, hockey puck, etc.) in the form of chocolate online. This can be a very cute, considerate, AND delicious way to show them you care.

Chocolate covered strawberries

For a romantic spin on a chocolate gift, consider chocolate covered strawberries. Get your significant other one of the most erotic forms of chocolate.

Hot cocoa basket

For a seasonal chocolate themed gift basket, get them an assortment of hot cocoa. Maybe put it in a pretty basket and get them a mug, some marshmallows, and chocolate covered biscotti to finish it off. (And if you go with Godiva’s hot cocoa, you could make the gift a double chocolate whammy.)

A subscription to a chocolate of the month club

There are all kinds of places out there that you can sign up the special someone in your life for a chocolate of the month club (with a promise of never getting the same gourmet chocolate twice). I don’t know about you, but I would adore this (even though my last dentist appointment would suggest that this is an awful gift idea for me). This way, that special someone gets chocolate for months after the holidays. It’s always a little depressing once the holidays are over, so give them something to look forward to for months to come.

Chocolate covered espresso beans

For the coffee addict in your life, consider chocolate covered espresso beans. There are all kind of places to buy and/or order them from. Personally, I’d go for the assortment of different types of chocolate (white, milk, dark, etc). Maybe even put them in one of those comically oversized mugs for a nice coffee themed gift.
