3 Delicious Vegan Desserts

3 Delicious Vegan Desserts

When most people think of going vegan, they think they’ll only be able to eat salad and vegetables.

While these two are extremely nutritious and yummy, there is so much more you’re still able to eat while adhering to vegan/gluten-free practices. You really can have your cake and eat it too!

We all love indulging a nice warm dessert once in awhile, and with the weather beginning to change, this comforting indulgence may begin taking place more often. That’s not something to be sorry for either, especially if your desserts are harm free (vegan). We all need that little something to look forward to at the end of a long day. That’s where these desserts come in.

Many people think that if you go vegan, you won’t be able to eat your favorite dessert treats. Since many contain some kind of dairy product, like butter or cream, and usually eggs are incorporated as well. So you may be thinking, how is it even possible to produce something that tastes good without those ingredients? Well, I can attest to the fact (after making a plethora of gluten-free and vegan desserts) that this can be achieved, and you might even end up liking them better.

A brownie, for example, can easily be modified to fit these guidelines. Yes, you read that right, you can eat brownies on a vegan diet. I will tell you from experience that the outcome is decadent and fudgy, the perfect comfort food. Going vegan/gluten free doesn’t have to be hard, you can still enjoy your favorite treats, just with a bit of a twist. So forget the common misconceptions about it, and get cooking!

Here are some suggestions:

1. 3 Ingredient Almond/Peanut Butter Cups

You have a deep love for peanut butter and chocolate, you’re going to absolutely love these. There is almost no greater combination than saltiness of nuts, and decadence of chocolate. The combination is mind-blowing. What’s very cool about this is that you can add whatever kind of butter you want, whether it be cashew, peanut, almond, or sunflower etc. You can customize this yummy treat however you please.

2. Vegan/Gluten-free Banana Bread

The vegan AND gluten-free bread you say? You heard that right. This is a great dessert that is actually not so bad for you. Bananas are a brilliant food to add into your diet because of their high levels of potassium and fiber. Plus if you have a sensitive stomach, or are allergic to gluten, you can eat this dessert with no worries.

3. Vegan/Gluten-free Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Although I have always loved oatmeal raisin cookies, they seem to have a bad rep out there. Many would much rather opt to have chocolate chip cookies instead, claiming that oatmeal raisin is too "healthy." Well, with oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, you get the best of both worlds and also get your oats in. Mmm!

Eating vegan doesn’t have to be difficult. You really can have your cake and eat it too.
