When it comes to planning a weekend away or a perfect date night in Albuquerque, New Mexico, there are a lot of options when it comes to things to do. From outdoor activities like private balloon rides, the foothill trails, or sightseeing tours, to museums and landmarks like Trinity Site, Petroglyph National Monument, and The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History.
And one of our favorite places to head to for date night is none other than Old Town in Albuquerque. It is a beautiful location loaded with history considering it is the “historic original town site of Albuquerque” that was originally settled in the 1700s by Spanish colonists. But it is not just the history of the site that draws us in, it is also the amazing restaurants, shops, galleries, and so much more that make us choose this as one of our top date night destinations in the city.
In fact, we think you could plan multiple date nights just in Old Town alone. If you are looking for galleries and trading posts, then Old Town is the place to be. And how about some amazing restaurants with ambience and delicious offerings? Look no further than places like Garduno’s at Old Town, Hacienda Del Rio Cantina (one of our personal favorites), and St. Clair Winery & Bistro.
Of course, Old Town is not the only part of the city that is perfect for a date night experience. In fact, there are a number of places to go, things to do, and restaurants to visit for your next night on the town. Look to these spots for some amazing food and a great experience with your partner.
Restaurant Antiquity
If you are looking for a local destination with amazing food, then look no further than Restaurant Antiquity. The place is quaint and cute, with a lot of amazing flavors on the menu. From amazing appetizer to delicious entrees, there is a little something for everyone. And on top of that, you can wrap up the night with a divine dessert like Crème Brûlée, Three Cream Crêpe, or a Chocolate Mousse.
High Noon Restaurant and Saloon
If you are looking for amazing steaks and local cuisine, then the High Noon Restaurant and Saloon is the perfect choice for your next date night. Not only is this restaurant in a perfect location (Old Town), but it has amazing food that will leave you coming back for more. Start your meal with their Truffle Shoestring Fries and grab the Braised Short Rib or the Blue Corn Enchiladas as your main course to make a date night that pops.
Padilla’s Mexican Kitchen
Padilla’s Mexican Kitchen is the place to go if you are looking for authentic New Mexican cuisine. The food is fresh and gives you a homemade feel every time. And with prices that are reasonable and won’t break the bank, you can make your next date night a fun time with more than just a stop at dinner. Plus, with daily specials, you can choose something different any time you head out for a night on the town.
La Crepe Michel
La Crepe Michel is another Old Town based restaurant that has to be on the list for a date night destination. With beautiful dishes, a quaint exterior, and of course food that delivers on taste and quality, this is a restaurant that will leave both of you excited to return. It offers food that is different from many of the other places around, especially as it gives you the chance to indulge in French cuisine. And whether you go for dinner or just dessert, you will love every bite you take.
Zinc Wine Bar & Bistro
Wine Bars are often some of the most perfect places for a date night, and Zinc Wine Bar and Bistro certainly needed to make the list as one of our date night choices. For an intimate date night experience that features American and French dishes, this is the place to be. And whether you want a multi-course meal or just a simple dish, there really is something for every palate.
While restaurants are not the only thing you need to make a date night special, they certainly can help. And with these options, you will be able to find a way to either start or end your date in style.
