The team behind OddFellows Ice Cream Co., co-owner Mohan Kumar and chef Sam Mason (who was nominated for the James Beard award), recently opened Coffee & Cream, a new space in the Nolita neighborhood for your go-to coffee – or ice cream – fix.
The ambiance is modest with a simple decor of white brick and circus-inspired accents, including line drawings done by artist Cerise Zelenetz. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the busy street while the take-out window makes for easy on-the-go ordering when you need to take your caffeinated treat with you.
The menu features coffee, ice cream, and a mix of both items. For coffee, you can enjoy a classic cappuccino or latte with regular milk or various additions to make it a bit more unique. Think: smoked raisin milk or chocolate syrup that are both made in-house. More modern concoctions include Smith Teamaker Nitro Chai or Stumptown Cold Brew, which are served on tap.
On the ice cream – or “cream” – menu, you’ll find OddFellows’ most popular ice cream flavors, such as Dark Chocolate Chunk and Salted Caramel Popcorn.
And as for the combo dishes, there’s plenty to choose from when you want to mix up your daily coffee routine. Order the Odd-fogato if you prefer espresso poured over your vanilla ice cream or try the Cold Brew Milkshake made with ice cream and beer when you’re craving a buzz.
There’s also a variety of baked goods available from Brooklyn’s own Bien Cuit and several donut flavors from Wylie Dufresne’s Du’s Donuts.
Coffee & Cream is now open daily starting at 7am (Sundays at 8am).
