Strawberries are the official fruit of summer. Or at least they should be!
There are over 600 varieties of strawberries and from what I’ve tasted, they’re all delicious, sweet, and one of the best berries. They’re also one of the top 10 fruits and vegetables in antioxidant content. Healthy and delicious? Count me in.
Fresh berries are an easy and great snack, and you can use older strawberries in drinks or with yogurt or oatmeal. These berries are delicious in so many eats.
And speaking of the eats, let’s talk summer strawberry eats. Strawberries are in season during the summer so they taste the best and are the best price. Let’s eat all the strawberries, here’s how.
Strawberry Fruit Salad
Strawberries are great in salad because they hold their shape and you can cut them to be small or large. And in fruit salad? They are the best! Add raspberries, grapes, and blueberries to your strawberries, give it a splash of orange juice and you will love it! Just combine the fruits with the orange juice and enjoy!

Adding fruit to your water has become very trendy. Have you ever had it? Adding fruit to your water gives it a new and different taste and is extra healthy for you too. You get all the benefits of eating berries, plus you get to eat the berries, and you give your drink a surprising and delicious new flavor. Yum. I like to cut up strawberries, or smash them, and add them to water. I also add lemon sometimes.

And what’s more summer than lemonade? This cool, refreshing drink has been a summer staple for decades and is more popular than ever. Want lemonade with a twist? Add strawberries. Much the same as adding them to water, they taste fresh and summery and add a burst of berry flavor, no matter which drink you add them to.
Strawberry Shortcake
It’s no secret that this recipe is an oldie but a goodie, and it’s so easy, too! Shortcake can be made homemade or picked up from the store (and who doesn’t just adore the cute little cakes that you can buy, they are the cutest!). From there you just top with strawberries and whipped cream, and that’s it. This delicious little, just for you, dessert is easier than ever and ready in just a couple of minutes. Yay for summer.
Strawberry Mango Salsa
Salsa is like the dip of summer, yes? Tortilla chips are the vehicle and salsa is the gas, yum. Haha. But make yourself a mango salsa (this will not disappoint, so good) and then add strawberries. You could also add this salsa to fish tacos or grilled chicken or pork.
Strawberries as a Topping

All berries are great as toppings but strawberries are the best. You can use strawberries diced, chopped, or whole, they are so versatile. And as a fruit to be added or as a “mashed” topping for a more syrupy addition, you can use it on so many things!
Here are a few:
- Pancakes
- Muffins
- Cheesecake
- Ice cream
- Toast/bread
- Cereal
- Salad
- Fruit pizza
- Oatmeal and so much more.
And you can even use it as a dipping sauce! Plus, you can add strawberries to cocktails, mimosas, and other summery drinks as well.
The best part about strawberries is when you find a U-pick and you can go and pick the best looking strawberries and make them your own. (Plus they taste way more delicious and truly amazing right off the vine.)
If you don’t already love strawberries, these are all the reasons why you should love them more! Eat more strawberries this summer, they are healthy and so good.
