The Five Best Active Dates in Vancouver

The Five Best Active Dates in Vancouver

For me, the best date is an active one. I don’t love to sweat, but if that’s the price I have to pay to go on an awesome, active date, then I’m in.
And Vancouver is the best place to go on fun, active dates. If you ever find yourself in Vancouver, or you want to plan a trip to go there, then these are the dates you have to go on.

Bike Around Stanley Park

This park is gorgeous, and the views are worth the trip alone. And the best way to see them is to bike it. There is a dedicated bike path to stay on so it’s easy to bike, and I’m telling you, you will not regret this date. On the way you will see lots of beautiful sites such as stones, water, mountains, beaches, a water park, forest, and so much more.

Or Walk Around Stanley Park

Stanley Park is 10 kilometers long, or 6+ miles. You can easily walk it as there are dedicated walking paths to follow as well, but at this length, it’s a long walk. It’s not that this walk is undoable, but it is long, and not very shaded. (While I was in Vancouver it was uncharacteristically hot and I got a little burn during this bike ride, so just be aware of that.)

Grouse Mountain

This mountain is over 2,000 feet in elevation and not an easy climb. But it will take you higher, and your relationship, too. Climbing to the top of Grouse Mountain is a challenge, and like relationships, the best part of a challenge is coming out the other side of it, and for the better. And in this case, for the amazing views. The best part about Grouse Mountain is getting to the top and seeing Vancouver across the way. My favorite sight was seeing snow on the mountains. But if you just want to see the sights, and not make the hike, there is a gonadola you can ride up to view the sights of Grouse Mountain. (But you should take the hike, it’s so worth it!)

Walk Around the City

This city has some of everything. There are food spots everywhere, most restaurants boast drink specials, and shopping is more than abundant, if that’s what you like to do. Because there are so many great things in the city, walking it is easy and good for you. I love to explore and doing it on foot is the best. You won’t miss anything this way and if you want to stop and check something out on the fly, you can.

Hop On Hop Off Bus

This Hop On Hop Off Bus is like others you see in the city or touristy areas. Once you are on the bus, you can see a schedule and have a map of all the stops and things to do along the route. You can “hop off” the bus whenever you want and for almost as long as you want, to see and do things at your own pace. Then, you just “hop on” and continue on your way. Sometimes these passes will run for a couple of days, or 24 hours, so that you can explore more, if you have the time.

Vancouver’s diversity makes it such a fun and amazing city to visit. And with all the active dates and events, I just cannot wait to go back.
