Victor’s Cafe is a Havana-style venue offering new dishes perfect for summer.
Victor’s Cafe is a stylish Cuban restaurant in Times Square, and while it’s located in the midst of the craziness, you’re instantly taken far away from the busy streets once you step inside. With a setting boasting palm trees, colorful murals, and live Cuban music, it’s hard not to feel transported to Havana. The service is also key. Not only are these guys friendly and informative about the menu, but they are efficient. If you have a show to catch, they will do everything to ensure you’re on time while still providing a relaxed feel.
And the food is top-notch, too. With a menu mixed with authentic eats, such as ham croquettes, roasted pig, and a traditional Cubano (or Cuban-pressed ham and cheese sandwich), there’s plenty to choose from, but these two new items are especially hot right now.
Nothing is more refreshing during these hot days of summer than fresh ceviche, and Victor’s has that covered. Made with Florida red snapper, mango, and avocado, this extremely light fish dish is marinated in citrus giving it a little tang without going overboard.
As for dessert, the Bon Bon is new to the menu and the right choice, especially for the chocolate lovers. This chocolate delight is moist on the outside and oozes with warm chocolate on the inside, but paired with vanilla ice cream for the perfect complementing bite.
And, if you’re in the area to catch a show during the weekend, be sure to check out Victor’s brunch menu. There’s the egg white omelet with goat cheese if you’re trying to stay on the healthier side, and guava cobbler if you don’t give a damn. Oh yeah, and mojitos. Lots of mojitos.
