No matter what background we all come from, there is one thing that unites us all: food. Food has the power to bring us all to the table. We pick up our utensils as we put down our inhibitions. It’s truly the best way to get closer to other people, which is probably why everywhere we click online, we run into food blogs.
Maybe it’s the enticing photography that gets us drooling from the get-go, but for me personally, these 5 awesome food blogs are my favorites out there.
1. Omnivore’s Cookbook
It’s my first choice simply because I lived in China for 5 years. Prior to that, I thought cooking Asian cuisine was really mystifying. After marrying a Chinese man and learning my way around a Chinese kitchen, it wasn’t nearly as intimidating as I thought. Maggie Zhu, the author of this blog, really simplifies how to make the best Chinese dishes. I love that it’s fun, easy to follow, and of course, the results are authentically delicious. My mother-in-law would definitely be jealous!
2. Marsha’s Baking Addiction
And now for something super-sweet. I have a major sweet tooth so this blog speaks to me in that sugary-sweet way. Plus, I’ve always been somewhat clumsy with baking. Unlike cooking, baking is a science that involves precision. I love that this blog has simple yet impressive sweets that even I can’t muck up.
3. The Crazy Kitchen
Initially, this blog drew me in because of the title. After all, my kitchen tends to get pretty crazy with my two daughters too. But it’s the recipes that have kept me coming back time and time again. They’re family-friendly yet go way beyond typical kid-food for things even my husband won’t complain about.
4. The Fit Foodie
I’m big into weightlifting though currently on a break from tearing my rotator cuff. So making sure I eat healthfully while I can’t go all in on my workouts is really important. I absolutely adore this blog for its clean yet incredibly delicious recipes. Lately, I’ve been asked to write a lot about veganism and alkaline diets and it’s truly an eye-opener. This blog is a definite keeper on my list of awesome food blogs.
5. Gonna Want Seconds
And finally, I’ll end with this awesome food blog that I found while searching for a new pork tenderloin recipe for the crock pot. We love the Mississippi Beef (and the pork and chicken too), but when you make things the same way every time, they lose their sparkle. I didn’t want that to be the case with those recipes as they’re amazing so I found The Best Crock Pot Pork Tenderloin on there and it truly lived up to its name. Also, the site is really easy to search and navigate, a huge bonus in my book when you’re desperately trying to find something new to cook.
Maybe you’ll agree with me and maybe you won’t, but for me, these 5 food blogs are full of awesome recipes that I’ve enjoyed making time and time again.
