You know what’s awesome? Food. You know what else is awesome? Dating. Food and dating together? Now that’s the perfect date night.
There is one place that is the best, hands down, place to eat and date, and that is the state fair. For the most fun foodie and date destination, the fair is it!
Rides
Always ride the rides FIRST! No one wants to eat and then ride the rides. It makes you feel sick and pukey, and that is not hot on a date. But everyone wants to ride the rides, so just make sure you do it first.
Games
Play the games last. This is for many reasons, the main one being that if you are on a date at the fair, you should definitely be winning your girl a stuffed heart or something uber cheesy. But let me tell you something, as nice as that is, and as sweet as that is, she does NOT want to be carrying something around all night at the fair. So, play games last.
Eat all the Food
Fair food is one of the best parts of the fair. Deep-fried everything, caramel and nut covered apples, and fresh-squeezed lemonade are delicious and easy to share. Plus if you want to try something new, there is always someone there to share it with. Don’t like it? They will help you eat it. Love it? All for you! Not everyone likes to share food but the fair is a perfect place to do it.
People Watch
I’d be hard-pressed to state a better activity while on a date than people watching. I mean, what’s not to love? Especially at the fair, you know that some people are dressed in pajamas, some in dresses and heels, and even some in jeans and cowboy boots. There are always the emo kids, the people who always dress in renaissance clothes, and even others who push their dogs around in strollers. (Yes, this really happens, and yes this is TOTALLY extra.)
Music
Most fairs have some kind of music playing whether it is live or through a speaker. So you can just sit, chill, and listen to the music. All while eating, people watching, and drinking your ice-cold lemonade. Fairs are also held during the best time of the year, making it more than comfortable, preferable even, to be outside, chilling, and relaxing.
Drinks
Not only can you play games, ride on rides, eat, chill and people watch (but not in that order,) you can drink, too! Well at most fairs you can drink. And lots of the tents have samples so you can try all different types of beer, liquor, or wine.
Food Festivals
Ok, so this is not your typical fair, I admit. But food festivals specifically are the most fun, and the most foodiest of dates. You always get to try tons of samples of food and drink, and everyone is nice and fun to be around. Plus, they really are a steal most of the time. Some festivals will have you pay admission and then everything inside is on the house. These are the best, and even with a higher price tag, totally worth it. There are some where you pay admission and then also for food tickets or per item, not so fun at all. So try to get a one price covers all deal and you’re golden.
Fairs make the perfect foodie night, and the perfect date night. Try it and see for yourself!
