TRAVEL • EDITORS PICKS 10 Beautiful European Cities You Should Visit With Your Partner
Deciding to explore new cities together could be the just the thing you guys need to bring that spark back and make you realize all over again why it is that you fell in love with each other.
Here are the 10 Beautiful European Cities I suggest:
10. Athens, Greece
Athens, Greece is a beautiful place to visit. A must go to is the Acropolis. The ancient ruins are very cool to learn about, and at the very high elevation, you’re able to see a wide variety of Athens from the top. The perfect photo op for you and your boo! Of course, while you’re there you must take advantage of the amazing Greek food, such as the renowned Gyro!
9. Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen, Denmark is a unique city in Europe. For one, the biking culture is essential to the Danes, so beware of where you’re walking as you don’t want to get run over by a bike on your vacation.
Two gorgeous places to visit are the Christiansborg Palace and the Renaissance-era Rosenborg Castle. Equipped with a vast garden with very green lawns, its the perfect place to sunbathe, read a book, drink some beer, or have a picnic with your partner.
8. Rome, Italy
When going to Rome, seeing the colleseum is a must. It’s a beautiful and historic site to be able to witness. Furthermore, the gelato in Rome is mouthwatering good. You and your partner might want to buy a couple of cups of it (and I mean a couple of cups per day). Of course you also have to experience the other cuisine such as pasta dishes, and of course, you two MUST eat authentic Italian pizza.
7. London, United Kingdom
Ah, the very enchanting London! This city has quite the variety of things going on. What I found to be unique to London was their Camden Market. There you can often find a vast range of food stalls, so there is no doubt that you’ll be able to see what you’re looking for. Additionally, there they have music, and the arts seem to flourish there. Famous people such as Amy Winehouse often frequented there, so that’s something fresh to be able to say when you return home.
6. Paris, France
The iconic Paris, France is a beautiful place to visit. I suggest the two of you going to a local market and getting a baguette, assorted cheese and nice bottle of wine to eat in front of the Eiffel Tower. You’ll love going at night when it illuminates. Or, perhaps the two of you would enjoy the brilliant bike tours that they offer through the city. It allows you to see the beautiful sites at a faster speed than walking. Also, they offer night tours that end with a ride down the river accompanied by none other than the wine of course.
5. Istanbul, Turkey
Istanbul, Turkey, is fascinating due to its location, as it straddles both continents of Asia and Europe! This makes it easier one to travel among both continents. Also, The Grand Bazaar is the biggest old covered bazaar in the world, with over 3,000 shops. You will be sure to find something that catches your fancy there.
4. Edinburgh, Scotland
Edinburgh, the busy capital of Scotland, is a beautiful place to explore due to its historical landmarks and brilliant architecture. The vast and pretty Edinburgh castle are built on an extinct volcano! But don’t worry, you’ll never be in danger, the last time the volcano erupted was 350 million years ago.
3. Capri, Italy
If you’re in Italy, the small island of Capri is an absolute must to visit. With just a mere ferry ride, you’re able to get to one of the most beautiful places you’ll ever see. There is a pulley that brings you up to the top of the mountain. With its breathtaking views, you’ll be sad to leave once it’s time to go.
2. Prague, Czech Republic
If you love beer, you’ll fit right in at Prague. Czech people are the world’s heaviest consumer of beer. So make sure to get an adequate amount of food in your bellies before you get your drink on.
1. Budapest, Hungary
Budapest has more natural thermal springs than another capital city! You and your boo should take advantage of this and make a nice bath with one another.
Wherever you and your partner decide to go, I’m sure you’ll have a great time. Make sure to do some research beforehand however and figure out just what you’d like to get out of your trip. Going abroad with your partner will be an exhilarating experience, and you must remember to take lots of pictures so that the memories of your travels live on!
